The Edmonton Police Service’s Crime and Trauma-Informed Support Services (formerly Victim Services Unit) was established on July 23, 1979, and since then has been committed to improving the overall service it provides to the public and enhancing the safety of the community.
The vision of the Crime and Trauma-Informed Support Services is to become a nationally-recognized model of best practice within the police community, through trauma-informed and client-centered response and services to reduce future victimization and contribute to Edmonton becoming the safest major city in Canada.
The mission of the Crime and Trauma-Informed Support Services is to provide timely intervention, prevention and supports to individuals, families and all our communities affected by crime, trauma and tragic events.
